Fans of Alex Gino's George will enjoy this book just as much! Grayson is a sixth grader who has lived with his aunt & uncle since his parents were killed in a car accident when he was a young boy. This story is similar to George, Gayson also wants to be the lead in the play who is a female. This book has more depth, yet and you will find yourself rooting for Grayson. The book also looks more directly about how hard it is for Grayson to get the support he needs - even from his aunt. Middle school students will devour this book. A simple yet emotional book to bring attention to the reality of what life is like for children who are struggling to identify who they really are.
